Mark your calendar for a plant hike! Join our hike with Kerri, a local Master Herbalist, and learn about the useful plants in our area. On October 1st, at 10am, we will explore the medicinal plants of our Joas Park Nature Preserve in Chippewa Falls as well as the abundant mile-long trail to get there.
Joas Park will also be nearing peak color this time of year. You won’t want to miss this!

Hike info
As this is a plant hike, we will walk about 2.5 miles total. The first mile is a straight stretch on a very easy path.
Once we reach the preserve, we’ll hike .25 miles more. We will pause often to learn about the plants we encounter and will take some time at the beautiful little stream that runs through the rare old-growth white pines. Then we’ll make our way back (though you’re welcome to stay longer if you’d like).
We will learn not only about how we can be in relationship with the plants but also consider how they are contributing in many valuable ways to their own ecosystems.
Learning about herbalism is so much more than just “what’s this plant good for?” … the plants within a particular space tell us the story of our human interactions with the land.
Tickets are free, but you still need to reserve your spot here!
