“Explore Close to Home” Family Hike

Do you enjoy morning hikes? Connecting youth to nature? Family time in the woods? Grab your hiking shoes and the kids (or grandkids) because this walk is for you.

Mark your calendar for, “Explore Close to Home,” a guided family walk through the trails at Kemper Woods! Join the Chippewa County Land Conservancy (CCLC) on August 27th, at 9:00 a.m.. CCLC volunteers will guide you along the established trail. Feel free to bring your binoculars as this location was preserved with bird habitat in mind. We will pause as needed to learn more about things we may encounter and take some time to observe the natural space around us.

Kemper Woods natural area is 80 acres of forested upland adjacent to the Chippewa Falls/ Eau Claire metro area. It lies in the Village of Lake Hallie and overlooks 630 acres that comprise Hallie Marsh.

With over 2.7 miles of trails, your family can connect  with nature while exploring this beautiful property.

Hikers will meet at 9:00 at the entrance to the property, located at 15459 50th Ave., Lake Hallie, WI, for this one mile round trip hike. The hike is free to the public but donations are appreciated! Sign-up is required as space is limited.
